Movie Review - Wanted

One word could describe this movie: exhilarating

I saw Wanted at the midnite sneak preview and even though quite a few of the best scenes had teaser snippets in the trailer, there were still lots to come that just took your breath away. And there was even a scene in the trailer that wasn't in the movie, so I anticipate quite a few deleted scenes on the dvd when it comes out.

As far as the action, it had by far, the BEST car chase scenes I have seen! Sure, a lot of them were pretty unbelievable, but the way they were shot, they looked genuine and as you are watching, you find that your jaw drops several times. And the several scenes with trains were awesome, too!

Basic plot: Wesley, an accounting manager, thinks that his life means nothing (he hates his boss, his co-worker is screwing his girlfriend, he is your basic doormat) until he finds out that the father who left him when he was 7 days old, was one of the best assassins and since his death, Wesley has been asked to join this special organization that his father was part of. Since it is in his blood, he is able to "curve a bullet" that only a select few are able to do, and his training begins. From that point on, the action and mystery as to who all of these new people are, are non-stop.

There are a few scenes that get a little weird and confusing like with the binary code explanation; and the looms and rats are pretty frequent that are a bit odd for the storyline. (Can't really explain them further because that would constitute as a spoiler, which I don't like to do.)

But all in all, great action scenes that you more than likely have NOT seen before, great storyline, heart-pounding suspense, likeable characters, complete closure ending (I like those), and this is probably the best I have ever seen Angelina Jolie. Normally I don't think she's much to look at, but she looks REALLY good in this movie.

I will be seeing this movie again in the theater and once it comes out on dvd, it's definitely one to buy on Blu-Ray.

Let me know what you thought of it.

Vixy :]

I enjoyed the hell out of it too. Only the bit at the beginning reminded me of the Matrix. Later it reminded me more of Equilibrium, but it didn't remind me of these movies in a negative copycat way. Great fun.

I dunno.

I admit this movie was done with a great degree of technical skills.

And the car stuntwork was first rate.

I dunno what my problem was. I don't think I had enough suspension of disbelief in my wallet to cover the cost of the whole "curving bullet" conceit.

I also fell out of lust with Angelina watching Wanted. Those tattoos are out of control.
