Movie Review - The Incredible Hulk

Saw this at the midnite show tonight. As much as I raved about Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk was actually better! Granted, that doesn't lessen Iron Man at all and in fact, I think it would be a great idea to make it a double feature. I think I might just do that Saturday.

I was never into the tv show but I knew enough about the plot to understand what was going on. The nice thing, though, was the first 2 or 3 minutes (as the intro credits are rolling), they catch you up in case you had never even heard of The Incredible Hulk before. Since I don't remember the tv program, I am the wrong person to tell you how closely they resembled each other as far as plot. And don't even think about asking me if it was like the comic book. The only comic books I was ever into were either Archie, The Pink Panther, and then much later...the adult stuff.

From the second the movie started until the very end, the action was superb, the dramatic elements were intense, there was a touch of romance as well, and even when there was a slow spot, it was purely to inform, so there honestly were no boring parts I could find. And, I am quite happy to say that even with it being over two hours long, I did NOT fall asleep. I caught every pulse pounding moment.

Acting was top notch, great chemistry between Liv and Edward, (Damn, he looked hot!), good CGI effects, great action sequences (I LOVED all of the rootop scenes!), great storyline, and kick ASS ending!

This is one to see again and again. But I definitely think that you need to have the full theater experience with this, so don't be a cheapskate and wait til the dvd comes out. Go see it right away. Help make it a better opening weekend than Spiderman. Because it was better than Spiderman. (Yeah, you heard me. It was BETTER than Spiderman.)

One tiny thing of not much importance to the film, but just kinda interesting, I thought....when you go to the theater and the coming attractions are getting ready to start, the curtain normally starts to close. Maybe it was just the theater I was in, but for this flick, the curtain opened to its full capacity and there was one scene in the movie that showed the location and the words at the bottom of the screen were actually NOT on the screen, but BELOW the screen. The picture took up THAT much space! Pretty cool, huh? :]

Go see it and come back and tell me what you thought. I challenge you to say any other comic book movie was as great as this one.

Wsup Vixy,

Was wondering where you were and how your trip was but no update!

I'll have to take a gander at the Hulk movie, even though I've never been a big fan.

Took the Family to see Kung fu Panda and was very pleasantly surprised. Its a LOT better than the trailers suggest, with incredible animation that any kung-fu lover would enjoy. Best work Dreamworks has done since...oh...Iron Giant? If you can catch a screening of it I'd love to hear your take on it.

Hey, Benticore! How've you been?

A zillion apologies. I have been completely buried in work. I did see Kung Fu Panda as well as a bunch more that go back to movies that are now coming out on dvd.

::sigh::

Am hoping to get everything caught up by this weekend. But then again I think I said that a few weekends ago, too. :(

I took over a thousand pictures on the trip and will be posting a few. I'm not brave enough to do that thing where you post ALL of the pictures on a site that just anyone can log on and see them. I prefer to remain obscure for now.

Hoping soon I will be able to put them up and get my blog back on track, but right now I am in pretty deep and have to dig my way out of the hole before I can even think of doing anything else.

Great to hear from you! And, yes, you should definitely check out Hulk. I wasn't a big fan and honestly...didn't even intrigue me when it first came out til the trailer blew me away and finding out that the movie was not a letdown was the best news ever. No spoilers, but you HAVE to see the ending because it ROCKS!
