Tess and Finn married for the sex. The only other thing they have in common is treasure salvaging, which isn't enough for Tess, so she has filed for divorce to attempt to get her credit rating out of the toilet since Finn has become more or less a beach bum with zero smarts and zero dollars. On the day of their divorce, Finn finds the granddaddy of all treasures on the ocean floor and he thinks that with Tess's help to locate it, he can win her back.
I wanted so desperately to love this movie. Kate Hudson is one of my favorite actresses and How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days is a movie I could see over and over again because she and Matthew had such great chemistry together...this was going to be another great movie.
But, unfortunately, Fool's Gold fell flat.
I'm not sure exactly what it was that made it an awful movie because the setup was good...nice looking people, lush scenery, good storyline, good acting. Okay, that was the part...the acting was not that great. The chemistry between the two of them really sucked. The best part about the movie was the character Gemma and she was so stupid that she made Jessica Simpson look like a Mensa member.
My best suggestion? Just watch the cute trailer and that's all you'll need.

That's interesting, I love Kate and Matthew together too. I will wait for it to come out on DVD anyways.
Question: So you didn't see The Hottie and the Nottie??? I am so surprised!!! LOL... It's gotta be a stupid movie anyways.
Actually, I would really like to see The Hottie and The Nottie, but it's not showing at my theater and with all the points I've accrued (just got another free movie ticket) I have to remain faithful. Hopefully it'll show there eventually but Lars And The Real Girl, Grace Is Gone (the trailer was so powerful it made me cry) and Atonement never played, and I was really wanting to see those so I never know which ones will make the cut. Vixy :)
