After reading all of the reviews and comments about Vantage Point, there really isn't much new I can say about it that hasn't already been said.
Simply put, this was an excellent movie, not to be missed. Definitely need to see on the big screen to appreciate the car chases and explosions.
Except for the tiny annoyance of the multiple cliff hangers that occur after each person's point of view has concluded, I really can't think of anything bad about this movie. Great acting, great action scenes, GREAT bad guys, great twists.
I do have to get on my soapbox just for a minute, though. I think I was the only one in the theater inwardly screaming "Get the EFF out of the street! Don't just stand there screaming! Move! Get out of the street!! Where the hell is this brat's mom?!? Someone get the brat out of the street!" The kid that was in the street was plenty old enough to know NOT to run into the street and then once there to just STAND THERE as a damned car is coming right at her. So, yeah, in this case, if she isn't going to know better than to not run into the middle of traffic, then I am asking, "where was the mom???" And then in a movie if the mom does reunite with the kid it's like a tearful "Oh, my poor baby! You could have gotten killed!" instead of (what it should be) "What in the HELL were you doing in the middle of the street?!? At ten years old, you are not a baby and you know better! You could have gotten someone killed!"
Please forgive my tiny outburst. I would be the person who has the doormat that says "dogs welcome, children must be on a leash" because I just don't understand how kids are allowed to get away with what they do nowadays, just running around being all rambunctious and the parents are nowhere in sight... (But that's a debate for another post.)
Go see Vantage Point on the big screen! You won't be disappointed!
