Over Her Dead Body got some really awful reviews with some citing it as the worst movie of 2008. I will admit that it was a bit hokey in a lot of scenes, but all in all, it was very entertaining.
The movie opens up with a beautiful Eva Longoria rushing around nagging everyone about every little detail that is going on at the outdoor wedding that is about to happen. Then you find out that it's HER wedding. She just wants everything to be perfect so that when she walks down the aisle to marry her dream guy that she won't have to be worried about anything. However, the guy who made the ice sculpture has not made it to her taste and as she tells him "it's not an angel because angels have wings" and she tells him to go back and make wings and then fasten them on this sculpture. As he's backing up the truck, he is clearly headed for the gardenias, so stupidly, Kate intercepts and he stops the truck just in time before hitting her, however the sculpture falls on top of her and next thing you know, she's dead. Persnickety thing that she is, she finds herself in a one on conversation with a woman who claims to be an angel but as Kate has said before about angels having wings and this woman not having wings, Kate doesn't believe her and since Kate is being difficult, the woman disappears and now Kate has to figure out what it is that she has to accomplish before she can get into Heaven.
In the meantime, her fiancee has not moved on with his life even though it's a couple of years later, so his sister is worried about him and has a friend who is a psychic talk to him to tell him that she has contacted his dead fiancee and she has told him it's okay to move on. This works at first but then Kate really does appear to the woman and is determined to not let this woman anywhere near her man.
Worth a viewing and a lot of funny scenes but nothing super spectacular.
