Movie Review - Witless Protection

Witless Protection didn't 100% completely suck, so I was pleasantly surprised. Granted, there were a LOT more groans than laughs, but it had a heart to the storyline, so as much as I kept thinking how stupid Larry is, I couldn't help but root for him in the end.

Larry is in law enforcement in Mississippi and has a lot going for him. A houseful of pets (iguana, beaver, opposum, raccoons), lots of friends (majority of which are womanizing boozers), and a hot girlfriend who is completely loyal to him. However, despite all of these great things, Larry's lifelong dream is to join the FBI so he has purchased lots of video tapes to get in shape - even making his own exercise equipment out of a merry go round type system involving a broom and a toilet plunger. One day at the local diner where his girlfriend works, he sees a black Suburban and in these parts, the only people that drive that kind of car are bad guys, and he sees a woman who has obviously been kidnapped, so he rescues her and then come to find out, he has just abducted her from the FBI as she is part of the witness protection program. Larry is still convinced that he has rescued her as he goes thru a list of things that the real FBI would do that these guys have not done, so he has her on the run with him while he unravels the mystery of why she is in the witness protection program to begin with.

My opinion, you would have to be a hardcore Larry The Cable Guy fan to truly enjoy every moment of this movie. It had its funny parts, but there were too many groans and stupid one-liners to count, and SOOO many gross parts, so maybe that ages me that I just don't think bodily function jokes are that funny.

I can't recommend this one, but it was at least for the most part entertaining.

Vixy :]
