Sex Talk Wednesday - Sex And The City

Over the weekend, I finished watching the last season of Sex And The City. I think it's one of the few series out there that has really remained consistent with both content and characters. I haven't checked the Jump The Shark website yet to find out what others think, but it started out bold and continued to be thru to the last episode, yet it still had a heart and soul to it.

One of the discussions that always comes up is which character are you? There are many sites that offer quizzes, but I think this is the best one, so go take this quiz and then come back and share your results.

I think everyone always identifies with Carrie because she is the most middle of the road of all of them. Miranda was always the cynical one, Samantha the most outlandish, and Charlotte would probably be classified as a prude...even though, she wasn't, the exterior said she was.

I'm a mix between Charlotte and Samantha. Which, I do realize is an odd combination from one extreme to another, but when it comes to talking to guys, I am very shy and reserved. But once I get to know them and it's on my terms, I can be as out there as Samantha as far as what I am willing to do to please my man. That brings me back to the Charlotte side, though, because Charlotte is always a bit neglecting of her own pleasure and her first hookup was with a guy who was only concerned about himself. It was nice to see that she finally ended up with a man who cared about what SHE wanted and they both ended up bending a little to meet the others' needs, but not so much that they fell over. I guess you could say, instead of waiting for my Mr. Big, I'm waiting for my Mr. Harry....except I would not be willing to change my religious beliefs for any man, which would bring me back to the Samantha side. Samantha has a very hard time connecting sex and love and because she is afraid of getting hurt, she shows the sex part of her to pretty much anyone who wants to see it, but the love she shields from ever getting exposed since she knows her heart will get trampled on the moment she lets it show.

The reason I don't identify with Carrie is because the first thing you think of is her fashion sense...of which I have none. :] I wear what is comfortable and what I think is flattering for me. I don't give two rips about spending $ 400 for a pair of shoes. I think that's stupid. I'd rather be spending that money on dvd's and cd's....items that will last a helluva lot longer than a pair of shoes. Unfortunately, the self-centered part of her character is like me, but I am working on changing that.

Miranda was a workaholic which I can relate to that part, but for the longest time in the show, she was portrayed as a bit of a man hater. NOT ME AT ALL! I love my men and I try really hard NOT to be cynical about love. I've been there a few times in my life and hopefully have learned from my mistakes so I won't be travelling down those paths leading to the flames, but only time will tell.
