Enchanted starts off overly cutesy wutsey almost to the point of unbearable (even for me) but it's supposed to be, so you muddle thru it as you watch the beautfiul cartooned maiden dancing around creating the perfect man and trying to find a pair of lips to finish her masterpiece and breaking into song about how important lips are for "true love's kiss". She stumbles across a handsome prince and after not even five minutes together, decide they will wed in the morning. The prince's stepmother will have no part of this because then she will no longer be queen, so she pushes the fair young maiden down a well which propels her thru to another dimension and she ends up in real-time downtown New York. No longer a cartoon character, but still being the naive creature she is, she runs into problems left and right but meets one hospitable man whose young daughter takes an immediate liking to her. He teaches the princess-to-be about the real world explaining that not everything lasts forever, and she shouldn't be so quick to marry someone she doesn't even know. She slowly starts to realize that not everything in the real world has a happy ending and she longs for her prince to come save her to take her away from this mean world; but by the time he arrives, she has gotten to know other people in the real world and begins to wonder if she likes this world better, after all.
If you can get past the first 10 minutes of extra cute makes you want to puke scenes, this is a very enjoyable movie. And there are not-to-be-missed dragon scenes that are pretty cool, too. Funny, entertaining, heartwarming, cute story. And all of the actors perform all of the songs, themselves....very well. Very satisfying ending.
