Saw this in the theater opening night. Below is my review.
Sydney is excited about going to college to experience what her mother (who has been dead for many years) experienced. Rushing the same sorority her mother was in, she finds out that she doesn't fit in and is forced to live in "the vortex" with seven guys...grumpy, sleepy, doc, bashful, dopey, sneezy, and sleazy. Rachel Witchburn has been the fairest in the land until Sydney shows up and now she has some major competition on her hands especially now that Tyler Prince (Rachel's on again off again boyfriend) has taken an interest in Sydney.
This was basically a "Revenge Of The Nerds" for the tweens. Except instead of nerds, they're dorks. It's set up to be like a fairy tale where the good and bad characters are clearly laid out with last names being "Witchburn", "Prince", and "White". And while the critics named it fluff, it is still entertaining fluff and an all around feel-good movie. Mostly aimed towards teen girls, there were quite a few older folks in the crowd, too, and everyone in the theater applauded (except me - I don't do that.) at the end.
One warning....do not take your kids to see this movie if they still believe in Santa Clause. Otherwise, there is a line in the movie that will have them crying, which will probably make you miss the rest of the movie because you're trying to console them over it.
Also, this movie probably isn't appropriate for younger than 12 since there are quite a few sex references.
Vixy :]
