When I first saw trailers for this movie, it looked REALLY good and then when I heard the title, I thought "what idiot thought up this title" so I had reservations over if I thought it would be good.
I was not disappointed.
The first thing I noticed was the excellent directing. Really good aerial shots that you wouldn't normally see. The movie starts out with voiceover narration which I'm not that crazy about and the guy's voice is almost effeminate, but you stick with it as the story unfolds about a little girl who is missing. The police are looking for her but it's been a couple of days and they're starting to give up hope of finding her. The older couple want their niece found so they hire a local private eye to investigate....he has ties with the community and can find out info that the neighborhood kids would never tell the cops. We find out that the mom of the litte girl missing is a white-trash druggie who owes a bunch of money so now you're left suspecting that something fishy is going on. Is the girl dead or has she been ransomed? And is the mom better off without her daughter because she doesn't seem to care much that she's gone?
This movie had a good plot, some intense moments, and a couple of twists along the way. Plus, there was some excellent eye candy throughout (both for guys and for girls) so whoever did hair and makeup for this film should get an award...I mean, Ed Harris - of all people - even looked scrumptious. The effs and even a few cees are casually thrown around but otherwise, I can easily see this as a movie of the week on regular tv. Maybe not a buy-worthy dvd but definitely rent-worthy.
