Movie Review - Saw IV

This is about to come out on dvd, but movie review is based on seeing the sneak preview when it came out in theaters.

Just got back from the midnight sneak preview of Saw IV.

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT!!!!

Now, since I've always had trouble with the actual definition of "spoiler", I don't want to say ANYTHING specific about this movie to ensure maximum enjoyment for whoever decides to see it except that it was WAY better than I had imagined. (And I had pretty high hopes for it, anyway.) The traps were super cool and extremely innovative...the punishment fit the crime in most cases. And the storyline was really good, too. For most people, it is quite a bit on the gorey side, but it won't be scary....although, for me, there were a few scenes that had my heart racing....that damned pig mask does it to me all the time. It could just be sitting there with no one inside or underneath it and it gives me the willies. (I don't think any of that was too specific...?)

In my opinion, you will need to watch Saw III to be able to hang with Saw IV because there are many scenes that rewind a tad into Saw III and without having seen the previous movie, you will probably be lost. (For those of you who work with me, I own Saw III (I and II, also) it and am more than happy to let you borrow it to prep you for Saw IV.)

Multiple viewings, of course, are recommended to make sure that all of the details are absorbed.... The theater I went to was PACKED and a bit interactive so I missed a few comments here and there, but it was still EXCELLENT! If you liked ANY of the Saw movies, you will enjoy Saw IV.

Vixy :]
