My dvd copy has not arrived yet. Below is my theater review.
Joe (The Rock) is a self-centered, egotistical professional football player who always reminds us that he is "#1 on the field and in your heart" and his only goal is to win the super bowl. Then he gets a visit from an 8-year old girl who claims that she is his daughter and his world is turned upside down and now he must decide which comes first in his life....his football career or his daughter. Kyra Sedgwick plays his nasty tempered publicist who is trying to keep the kid under wraps. (Jen, just for you they have her wearing that god-awful bright red lipstick you hate her in....like she wore in The Closer until enough people wrote in that they hated it.. :))
This movie was much better than I thought it would be. I figured it would be cutesy with a few laughs, but it ended up being a very heart-warming comedy with just enough sap to make you cry at the sad parts and cheer at the happy parts, but enough comedy, cool gadgets and even a few football plays to balance it out and keep the guys interested, too. (Note there are many, many Elvis Presley references and memorabilia to go around for the Elvis fans out there.)
